Compared with common enterprises, high-tech companies are those gaining profits by the application of high technologies. The major features of a high-tech company are: superior knowledge basis, high creativity, high growth, high investment and high gainsThe life of a newly established company include four stages, seed stage,initial stage, development stage and matured stage, and a new company presents different characteristics in different stages. Major problems facing a high-tech company include common problems encountered by traditional companies like management, capital, marketing and talents as well as particular problems relating to the business line of the new company, such as technology, research & development.Considering the characteristics of high-tech companies in their initial stage and the major problem facing them, this thesis proposes corresponding strategies: To select proper competing strategies including the difference strategy and the focusing strategy, so as to focus the limited resources available in the initial stage on one point to establish its advantages on a particular point; make perfect business plans, specify development orientation, unify the team and obtain support; to select and restructure the work team making it highly effective; to gradually standardize from the beginning the management system on the basis of the satisfaction and team identification of the employees; to plan marketing and proper marketing strategies beginning wtih the design of products taking into consideration the customers'requirements and the company's technical advantages; to acquire support from risk investments and system; to control well the research and development of the technology so as to maintain the technical advantages; to fully utilize the supporting policies of the government; to set up a consolidated material and cultural foundation for the further development of the company.
