The develpment of urban tourism relies on urban tourism landscape, the visual image conveys the important information of tourism development, the beauty of visual image of tourism landscape which helps to improve the city's whole image. Thrus, visual image of tourist landscape should receive people's attention, finds out ways to upgrade the visual image and provides the tourism landscapes which has the view value and aesthetic significance.This paper form the perspective of visual image, takes the tourists and residents'perception as the orientation to analyzes and evaluate tourism landscape. First, the thesis recalls the study status quo of the landscape, tourism landscape, visual image and its evaluation at home and abroad and points out the study method and way of thinking. Secondly, it analyzes the elements and characteristics of urban tourism landcape, divides the city tourism landscape into natural and humanistic tourism landscape elements, as well as classifies the elements of visual image of tourism landscape, points out that the impact elements on the visual image are the quality of tourism landscape itself and the social backgroud of the viewers. Making use of the Delphi method to built the evaluation model of urban tourism landscape's visual image, dividing the evaluation factors into six categories which are architectural landscape, streetscape, green landscape, water landscape, public art landscape and environment landscape ,AHP is used to set score standards. Thirdly, on-the-spot investigations in Yangzhou, on the basis of a questionaires survey, it determines the first impression, the representative image, representative colour, representative slogons, characters standards and the deepest visual imprssion of tourism landcape, and knows the tourists and residents in different gender, age, levels of education, occupations and other social backgrounds have the different perceptions of the visual image of tourism landscape in Yangzhou. Fourthly, the evaluation model is used in the visual image evaluation of Yangzhou typical tourist attractions -- Slender West Lake, Ge Yuan, scenic belt along the coast of Ancient Canal, Then it puts forward the optimizati on strategies of visual image of these typical tourist landscape in order to enhance Yangzhou city's image and promote the development of tourism. Finally, the article summarizes the main conclusions, and also points out the study shortcoming of the visual image of tourism landscape, in order to improve and help for further investigation.
