Image is one of the most important factors to attract tourists; most successful tourist destination often has a unique tourism image. Shaping the city tourism image, can not only increasing the attractiveness and competitiveness of tourism products, improving the tourism economic benefits, but also promoting a city's social civilization and progress. Visual image is a communication form of concreting and visualizing urban tourism image, which contacting with the public most closely and affecting range most widely. A good visual image design can fully express travel ideas and easy to swallow. It is a static identifier. City tourism logo is the foundation and core of tourism image; it uses a unified and lasting symbol of visual recognition, and communicates through a variety of media, in order to create a lasting and profound visual impression in public and enable the public to grasp the message clearly. City tourism logo expresses the characteristics of tourist places with the most obvious, eye-catching and attractive graphic logo graphic. Tourism logo is the condensed tourist information carrier; it takes on the sacred mission of shaping the tourism image and attracting tourists.The object of this study is the well-known historical and cultural city Xi'an, through in-depth research, statistics and analysis, combined with the overall city image characteristics, aimed at promoting the tourism image, started from designing tourism logo of Xi'an, imported diverse manifestations of contemporary visual design on city tourism visual communication, in order to convey the overall impression of the city's culture and tourist attractions novel, fast and accurately, and integrate the traditional culture and modern design to adapt to the demand of the rapid development of modern tourism, and fierce competition to city tourism image transmission. On this basis, this study seeks to find a feasible application and expression of city tourism image visual design language in practice. Finally, in the long run, this study can also have a certain referential significance for tourism development, city maintenance and sustainable development of Xi'an.
