With the speeding of world economic integration,a great number of foreign-funded petroleum enterprises enter Chinese market. Meanwhile, transnational operating activities in Chinese petroleum enterprises thrive, and transnational petroleum corporations spring up. Also the multicultural contradiction and conflict in transnational petroleum corporations arise. Therefore,it's necessary to analyze the factors and reasons of these problems so as to encourage the healthy development of Chinese petroleum corporations by strengthening trans-cultural management. This paper firstly anatomizes the definition, characteristics and meanings of trans-cultural management, then introduces the significance for Chinese petroleum enterprises to carry out the trans-cultural management. After that, this paper mainly analyzes the three biggest oil companies'current situation of international operation, cultural identities of international goal markets and cultural differences between international goal markets and China. At the same time,it analyzes the cultural conflicts and its influence on multinational operating activities of petroleum enterprises. At last, this paper puts forward some suggestions to work out the cultural conflicts:the first of these is to respect cultural differences and carrying out localization management, meanwhile accelerating China and foreign countries'culture hybrid and taking flexible management methods to construct harmonious oil-land relationship, then to train trans-century international talents well and build up cross-cultural training systems for the foreign and Chinese workers.Through the analysis,we can iron out cultural conflicts, bring about culture hybrid, and use cross-cultural management to bloom multinational operating activities of petroleum enterprises with health so as to raise the international managerial levels of Chinese petroleum enterprises.
