Time Value Of Information Sharing In MTO Supply Chain

In current customer oriented market high quality and variety product have already become common, instead delivery time and product individuation got more and more attention. Supply chain faced the challenge of both customization and time compression. A better understanding of the time value of supply chain information sharing could bring more effective system operation. It could promote organizational relationships that foster the sharing of technological and resources. On the other hand, it could give some clue on how to share specific information to efficient supply chain delivery time compression.This thesis gave the common information transferring process, and then analyzed the process of information sharing in supply chain, put forward the impact of information sharing had on time compression: information lead time compression, decision-making process and dependencies of business processes. Analyzed the concept of time value and forming process, described its driving processes. Provided relatively qualitative analysis of the elements influenced its magnitude and suggested the improving approaches. The influence of the sharing information's quality including time, veracity and efficient on time value were also given. Based on vehicle manufacturing industry, summarized the generic order fulfillment process and time distribution. Found that manufacturing plan creating and inbound logistics were the main reason of time delay. A comparison of the two processes performance within and without information sharing was given. Grounded on the analyses on the time value of information sharing, put forward the information sharing mode, which provided efficient information support for flexible and speedy response of customer order.
