With the challenges of urbanization and the automobile fast increasing, at present all the big cities of our country have the phenomenon of unorderly development. Unorderly spreading of big cities has not only corroded a lot of land resources but also caused a series of social questions. Because China has a large population and a little lands, it must not develop unordered like the western countries. China should implement the Transit Orient Development firmly before the car has not been popularized in cities. On the basis of absorbing the research results of domestic and international experts and scholars, this text carries on systematized research about Large-capacity Rapid Transit Orient Development. The Transit Orient Development (TOD) originated from the American. If our country wants to extensively implement it, it must be defined in conformity with our country's conditions. Before launching research, the paper clearly confirms that implementing TOD in China has only two transit modes which are Urban Mass Transit (UMT) and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). And we expand TOD theory to deal with guiding the space form of city.Because the city traffic and land utilization relies on each other and circularly promotes each other, the macroscopically foundation of implementing TOD in our country is to do a good job of the city traffic and land utilize integrated planning. Only accomplished this, Large-capacity Rapid Transit can play the role of guiding urban space form.According to the kinds of different space forms of cities, we should correspondingly plan the transit network to prevent the city spreading unorderly and lead the urban space form to develop intensively in implementing TOD. While assigning TOD node, we should fully consider the development of this area. In the area developed especially recently and in the industry concentrated area, we could assign the TOD node with less interval. We should plan and design the land use, developing the density, road system, green land and park in the TOD node, according to TOD theory. At present both Urban Mass Transit and Bus Rapid Transit of our country development swift and violently. Compared with BRT the UMT has some advantages, such as larger capacity, faster, environmental protection, etc. but UMT also has the disadvantages of bigger investment, construction period longer, poor flexibility etc.. But they have no contradiction with each other; they should cooperate together and promote the TOD implementation in our country. When special city chose the mode of Large-capacity Rapid Transit, it should carry on a technical and economic evaluation and discuss, such as urban economy, land utilizing and population distribution, urban space form, etc...At the starting stage, the implementation of TOD needs the energetically support and guide of the government department. At the same time, we should fully study the maturity theory and practical experience of foreign TOD, realizing the sustainable development of our city.
