Research On Public Transportation Development In Zhongshan Based On Smart Growth Theory

With the economic and social development,the urban scale of Zhongshan is constantly expanding.As a key element that supports urban construction and promotes urban development,urban transportation gradually reveals more and more problems,which has more and more negative impacts on urban development.At present,with the proposal of the national strategy of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area,Zhongshan has ushered in a new round of development opportunities,various urban traffic problems are a difficult problem that Zhongshan urgently needs to overcome in the new round of development.Based on the knowledge of the internal relationship between urban transportation and urban development,the birth process and connotation of Smart Growth Theory,and the transportation policy based on Smart Growth Theory,this paper combines the current situation of traffic in Zhongshan to explore the application results of Smart Growth Theory in the development of public transportation in Zhongshan,and to explore how to further use Smart Growth Theory to guide the development of public transportation in Zhongshan,and to prospect the urban development of Zhongshan.This paper uses case analysis method to analyze how Zhongshan uses Smart Growth Theory to guide the development of urban transportation,so as to achieve the purpose of improving urban traffic conditions and promoting urban development.By analyzing the current situation of traffic in Zhongshan,especially the current situation and existing problems of public transportation,this paper studies the measures taken by Zhongshan for the development of urban public transportation in combination with Smart Growth Theory.From the four aspects of Urban Transportation Planning.Rail Transit.Bus Rapid Transit.Urban-Slow-Transit,this paper analyses how Smart Growth Theory is applied to achieve the comprehensive benefits of economic,social and environmental,and analyses the application of Smart Growth Theory in upgrading of existing railway stations such as Zhongshan North Railway Station and Zhongshan Railway Station.Finally,this paper explores how to build a mature urban transportation network in Zhongshan and further improve the conditions for urban development.Zhongshan applies Smart Growth Theory to the planning and construction of public transportation,aims to establish a modern,integrated and low-carbon integrated transportation system with Rail Transit and Medium Volume Transit as the framework,Conventional Transit as the main body,Taxi and Water Transit as the supplement and Urban-Slow-Transit as the extension.By applying Smart Growth Theory,Zhongshan has made great efforts to develop the urban public transportation in the central urban area,and has achieved periodic results: The concept of "public transportation priority" has gradually gained popularity.The daily travel mode of urban residents is more scientific and reasonable,and urban transportation congestion has been alleviated to a certain extent.The study shows that the application of Smart Growth Theory in the development of public transportation in Zhongshan is feasible,it has gradually promoted the sustainable development of transportation in Zhongshan,which is of great significance for realizing the sustainable development of the city.With the deepening application of Smart Growth Theory,Transit-Oriented-Development model will play an increasingly positive role in the process of urban development.Zhongshan applies Smart Growth Theory to guide the practice of public transportation planning and construction,can also provide experience for the planning and construction of the second and third-tier cities in China.
