The competition between corporations has evolved into the competition between supply chains with the economical globalization and the intensification of market competition. The aim of supply chain management (SCM) is to improve the efficiency in operation and management as well as to show quick response to the market by cooperation of firms. Information-sharing, as a basis of the cooperation in supply chain, plays an important role in improving the performance of the whole supply chain and is among the critical research trends of SCM. Hence, research on information-sharing enjoys great significance in academy and practice. There is much research on this issue, but little of them work on it by clearly answering the following three questions: "who is going to share the information?", "What kind of information is to be shared? " and "How to realize the information-sharing?" though the answer of the three questions can make the information-sharing more practical. From the respective of enterprise cooperation, we study on the information-sharing for SCM by answering the three questions mentioned above. We start with picking up the three typical roles of enterprises in a supply chain and recognize the information-sharing requirements including the information sharers, the types, the tasks, the ranges, etc by analyzing the decision-making processes of these three typical roles. Then, according to the requirements, we suggest the characteristics of information-sharing platforms for SCM. followed by the model of such a platform. Finally, we discuss the usability of the platform through a case study of information-sharing within a supply chain. The information-sharing platform modeled in this thesis is based on the decision-making processes of enterprises and enjoys a simple and flexible structure. By modeling such a platform, we answer the three questions clearly and provide a more practical guide to enterprises for the implementation of information-sharing within supply chain.
