The Shipbuilding Industry is one of the important symbol to show a country's economy and the technical strength, with the intensifying of international shipbuilding market competition, The traditional shipbuilding pattern is not adapt to the request of the market. There is tremendous gap of shipbuilding technology between China and international advanced level, and the gap of Control and Organization of Production Management is 20 years. The production efficiency of hull curved block in shipbuilding is low, which greatly restricts the development of Chinese shipbuilding industry.According to the manufacture characteristics of curved block assembly, fixed location production and Flow Line production pattern are integrated in this paper, and Virtual Flow Line (VFL) of hull curved block assembly is proposed, that is to say, a production organization form of flow line is applied in fixed location production of curved block to enhance production efficiency of the curved block assembly.The production organization structure of hull curved block in shipbuilding based on VFL is researched in this paper. The mathematical Model and the Scheduling Algorithm are provided based on the theory of VFL, and the Production Scheduling System of VFL is developed in this study. The main contents and the achievements of the dissertation are as follows:Firstly, the production organization structure of hull curved block in shipbuilding based on VFL is built and the key technologies of VFL are studied in this paper. Secondly, the mathematical model of the production scheduling base on VFL is proposed in this paper.Thirdly, a heuristic Genetic Algorithm is proposed to deal with the production scheduling problem in the VFL production system.Fourthly, an example will be provided to validate effectiveness of the VFL.Finally, the Production Scheduling System of hull curved block in shipbuilding based on VFL is developed in this study.The Virtual Flow Line can effectively enhance the production efficiency, reduce production cost, and improve the whole competitive ability of shipbuilding industry. It can be used for reference to the manufacture process of large-scale, heavy product such as the airplane, the bridge and so on, and it has good prospect of application.
