Research On Economic Sustainable Development In Dalian

The sustainable development theory came into being based on the explosive growth of worldwide population, the gradual shortage of natural resource and continually deterioration of ecological environment.Since the conception of sustainable development was proposed, it has become the basic start and necessary choice when government established policies and model of economy development. As an important coastal open city in China, Dalian has rapidly developed in economic since the beginning of the 21^st century. However, the conflict among economic development, population, natural resource and environment begins to getting more and more serious. How to keep the economic health and sustainable growth is a major challenge faced with government in Dalian.Based on the above background, this paper systematically researches economic sustainable development of Dalian using quantitative and qualitative methods. The main contents of this paper are:In the first part, we systematically recalled the economic sustainable development theories in china and abroad. We also compared and analyzed evaluation methods of sustainable development.In the second part, we analyzed the relationship between economic development and population from the angles of population amount, population quality and population age structure, and built the relationship model between economic development and population amount.In the third part, we analyzed the relationship between economic development and natural resource from the angles of farmland area, total water supply and comprehensive energy consumption per ten thousands yuan GDP, and built the relationship model between economic development and these elements respectively.In the fourth part, we evaluated economic sustainable development comprehensive ability in Dalian based on the theory of coordinated development,and analyzed coordinated development degree of economic sustainable development in Dalian during 2001～2006.In the fifth part, corresponding measures are proposed to make sure economic sustainable development according to the problems which existed in Dalian, in order to guarantee the economic sustainable development. According to the research results, we found that the whole coordinated development ability among economic development, population, natural resource and environment is at the middle-level in Dalian at present, since economic support ability and resource support ability are the main restrictive factors. In the future, Dalian should strengthen the pull force of consumption to the economic growth in future and improve resource utilization efficiency simultaneously.
