A Study On Spatial Economic Structure In Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Region

Abstract: Chengdu-Chongqing economic region located the south-west in China. Two cities-Chengdu and Chongqing are the core of the region. No other region in west can compare with it either in economic capacity, population or in the ? level of urbanization, resource, exploring condition and so on. It is one of the largest five regional urban agglomerations and becomes the power of Chinese development after Changjiang-triangle economic region, Zhujiang-triangle economic region, Beijing-tianjin economic region and the northeast old industry region.Chengdu-Chongqing economic region is included in the state development preliminary planning by the National Development and Reform Commission,then a number of experts and scholars concentrate on studying it, but people makes a little research about the social economic space construction which is an importance part of region development research. On basis of other scholars' academic achievements, This article adopts the research approach of combing different spatial scales, as well as technical measures such as mathematical models. On the basis of the view of the spatial economic difference of Chengdu-Chongqing economic region, the article studies the spatial economic difference from two kinds of ways, including the overall, one city/rural with other cities/rural. Further, the article analyzes the main factors that affect the economic spatial difference on each. And on the former studies, the article establishes some development emphases each part in future, then gradually reorganizes and optimizes the spatial economic structure of Chengyu-Chongqing economic region. The result of the study shows:First, the difference of Chengdu-Chongqing economic region on spatial economic structure is extremely obvious. The difference of regional economy is a kind of objectively existing economic and social phenomenon. The appropriate distinction helps to promote rational disposition and the space transferring of the industry. But too big regional economic distinction is not merely harmful to regional economic development, but is also related to the stability of the society. Secondly, Chengdu-Chongqing economic region exist some problem. For example, the low degree of economic integration, the serious economic structure difference of rural area, unbalanced pattern of cities internal and so on. Finally, administrative division, finance mutual independent and serious local protectionism hinders the overall Chengdu-Chongqing economic region development so that the region is lack of the common efforts.On the basis of the problem about spatial economic structure in Chengdu-Chongqing economic region, this article points out the main obstacle preventing optimizaing the spatial economic structure is the inconformity which results from the discontinuity of district zone and economic zone. For optimizaing the spatial economic structure, first, we must set up an effective protection institution so that district zone and economic zone integrat and unificate from institutional level. Secondly, based on the agricultural geographical environment, input-output results and other factors effectively adjust the agricultural inputs and other resources promting its geographical structure optimization. On the other side, concentrated on fostering mega-city and large city improve the regional scale structure. Finally, we gradually establish a completely point-axis structure and construct four major economic sub-region.
