Discussions On Zhou En-lai' Construction Of China's Socialist Economy

Since the founding of The People's Republic of China, assisting Mao Ze-dong in his work, Zhou En-lai had made great contribution to the making of the route, general and specific policies of China socialist economic construction, and to the planning and organizing of Chinese national economy development.From the viewpoint of history, between 1949 and 1976, the economy in China had made great progress, and Zhou En-lai, as the direct leader in the economic construction, rendered a great service to mankind. He adhered to a realistic approach and acted as the economic law. In the Great Leap Forward (1958) and the proneness to boasting and exaggeration, he kept his mind clear and corrected the"Left"deviation. With the direction of right idea and route, he directed the regulation of the national economy affairs and made many achievements and improved the development of the national economy. During the Great Cultural Revolution (1966-1977), facing the bad words from the Gang of Four, meeting a lot of difficulties and together with the old revolutionary, he made great efforts to save the whole nation for survival. Facing many difficulties, he laid the emphasis on the important status of economic construction, overcame all kinds of troubles, focused on the economic construction and reduced the loss from the"Left"deviation and the internal disorder, which made the national economy remain a certain level.From the practical point of view, the socialist construction we are carrying on is on the bases of the theory of constructing socialism with Chinese characteristics. The forming of constructing socialism with Chinese character mainly absorbed and used the precious experience of our party, among which contained Zhou En-lai's theory of socialist economic construction. The theory is the precious mental wealth as well as historical experience of our party and people. Thus, deeply studying Zhou's theory of socialistic economical construction has great significance.The article above is based on the theory of Marxist economy, especially Mao Ze-dong, absorbed and used the current viewpoint of academe, wholly analyzed and summed up the central content, brilliant feature and practical meaning during the past 26 years when Zhou En-lai was the Premier.
