With the rise of people's consumption and the improvement in consciousness of the environmental protection, many countries and enterprises are placing increasing emphasis on the management of reverse logistics. China's reverse logistics lags behind than the highly industrialized countries both in practical service and theoretical research due to its late start. At present, reverse logistics has attracted increasing attention from the government and enterprises alike. Therefore, it is imperative to apply theory on reverse logistics to guide practice.Starting with the concept and related theory of reverse logistics, this thesis makes a brief review of the rise and status of reverse logistics, then summarizes the characteristics of the reverse logistics, and expounds on the causes of reverse logistics in China by resorting to the interpretative structure modeling. Based on the comprehensive and detailed analysis of costs and benefits of reverse logistics, this thesis attempts to construct a quantitative reverse logistics in which the costs and benefits of all items can be quantified. Thirdly, an optimal reverse logistics operation flow chart is built. The paper is hoped to put forward some suggestions on the management of reverse logistics so as to improve the efficiency of reverse logistics and perfect its management by considering China's actual conditions.
