Since Schultz founded human capital theory in the sixties twenty century, the theory has developed quickly. However, when it comes to the question of the risk of human capital investment, there is no comprehensive domestic and foreign research. Particularly, we rarely see systemic research regarding to enterprise human capital investment risk.With the arrival of the knowledge era, competition for talents is the key point of the competition among enterprise. Human capital investment is the foundation on which enterprise can keep on developing, which enhances the storage quantity of enterprise human capital and enterprise competitive power. In another word, the advantage of enterprise human capital is equal to competitive power of enterprise. In this trend, as an economic organization which makes the maximum profit, always take the human capital investment as the most important strategy. However, as one kind of investment, since it can bring rich return, human capital investment inevitably will go with lots of risks. For enterprise, the mistakes in human capital investment decision will lose the superiority in the intense competition for talents. Since the enterprise cannot ignore the human capital investment risk, how to treat human capital investment rationally in order to lower or evade human capital investment risk and obtain high return from human capital investment becomes an important topic.This thesis takes human capital investment and risk as central point and includes five parts. The first part reviewed domestic and foreign research situation on human capital investment risk and carried on comments of the related literature.The second part is the analysis about enterprise human capital investment. From the perspective of enterprise, the conception of the human capital investment was presented and the enterprise human capital investment was divided into five types according to the formative process of human capital. The five types are recruitment investment, distribution and use investment, training investment, maintenance and motivation investment, health-keeping investment. At the same time, the investment model was introduced in this part.The third part is the analysis about enterprise human capital investment risk. This thesis introduced the concept of human capital investment risk, the influence of human capital investment risk to enterprises, the reason of risk. The human capital investment risk was divided into demand and supply risk, recruitment and training risk, distribution risk, use risk, agency risk and loss risk.The fourth part elaborated how to create the system to evade the risk of human capital investment in enterprises. From the view of human capital, this part focuses on discussing the measures to reduce the risk of human capital investment in enterprises and proposed a model to evade the risk on the basis of theories of economics and management science.The fifth part took enterprise A as an example, evaluated and early warn the human capital investment risk of enterprise A though obscure comprehensive rate.
