Cities are economic, cultural carrier, the resources are effectively targeted in here. With the urban developed, urbanization has been widely considered to be an important indicator of the level of development to evaluate a city. Urbanization is a broader concept, many scholars research on urbanization, at the same time, scholars are concerned about the intensive use of urban land .At present, the two areas of urbanization and urban land-intensive use have been on the relatively mature, these two areas on a city's development is very important, however, there is not much study on the two relationships in the city.The main points of view on the relationships between the two are: urban construction promote the intensive use of urban land, the higher the level of urbanization, the more conductive to the intensive land use; at different stages of urbanization, urban land use corresponding to the different intensive strength, use of forms and types; the premise of studying China's intensive urban land use is that the full study on the level of urbanization and it's development stage and it's features. It is easy to see from the above point of view, many scholars believe that between them there is a certain relationship between urbanization and urban land intensive use, but on the precise there are not scholars to do research on the relationship between the two on a particular city.This paper research on the relationships between urbanization and urban land intensive use as an example to Cheng du to come to such a conclusion: There is not correlation between urbanization and urban land intensive use from 1999 to 2005,but the future development trend of the two is similar.The author analysised some in-depth results, learned from foreign experience, made suitable measures for intensive development of urban land-use, to improving urbanization pace and the intensive use of land for chengdu.
