Research On Competitiveness Evaluation Of The Listed Automobile Companies Based On Gray Systematic Theory

The China automobile industry started from the fifties of the 20th century. Under different background, the industrial overall development strategy and market demand in each stage are moving toward maturity step by step while the automobile enterprises have been breaking through themselves again and again. From the initial producing independently under planned economic system, the way to introduce technology and produce jointly is getting active gradually with the promotion of the reform, and the fierce market competition pushes the automobile industry into a stage that many automobile enterprises have become strong and huge and joint-venture's scale is expanding constantly. Since 2004, the automobile industry in our country enters into innovative stage with independent development and begins to pay attention to absorb technology and develop independently. Within 49 years from 1956 to 2005 in output scale, the annual production of car of our country rose to 5,707,700 from 0, leaping to the 4th place in the world. This fast development is the outcome of the development of national macro-economics, but accumulates many crucial questions and contradictions.This paper regards these problems as the starting point to study and appraise the synthesized competitiveness of the listed automobile companies. It has very important meanings to help discerning enterprise's competitive power, making enterprises to clearly find out their own positions in competition, strengthening enterprise's comprehensive ability and improving the adaptability to changes of enterprises in the market.First of all, this paper has introduced corporate competitiveness theory and gray systematic theory. Its introduction to the conception and influencing factors of enterprise's competitiveness has established the foundation for confirming the evaluation index of the competitiveness. Gray systematic theory is the basic methodology for studying enterprise's competitiveness in this paper, which is the frame of setting up the evaluation models of the competitiveness of listed automobile companies.Secondly, this paper has probed into the essential feature of automobile industry from three respects including automobile industrial scale, space arrangement and benefit, summarized the current situation of this industry and overall development trend and offered the potential developing direction for the listed automobile companies as the outstanding in automobile industry.Finally, this paper has constructed the evaluation index system of listed automobile companies, which reflects six aspects including enterprise scope, profit ability, operation ability, growth ability and debt paying ability. Based on this index system, we have set up the evaluation models of the competitiveness of listed automobile companies by multi-level gray comprehensive appraisal method and utilizing AHP to confirm the index weight. By choosing 11 listed automobile companies as research targets, we have arranged them in an order in terms of their synthesized competitiveness and given some feasible advices for their competitiveness promotion.
