Mobile Search is the combination of wireless internet and search engine. In 2004, the value-added service providers such as Cgogo,Yicha have launched the new mobile-search service, which can be considered as the start-up of the Chinese mobile-search market. In 2006, China Mobile launched in mobile-search market, with the cooperation with Google, since then the Chinese market is developing much faster.Meanwhile, global mobile-search market played an important role in mobile value-added service. There were 4% mobile users using mobile search in 2006, and the industrial scale reached 4 billion dollars. It is estimated that till 2010, global mobile-search scale would be 11 billion dollars.As the combination of two popular fields in nowday's communication industry—search engine and mobile communication—mobile search has became the highlight and growth source in mobile value-added service.In addition to its advantages and disadvantages, there are still some impetus and obstacles in mobile search industry. The main impetus include, the high-speed growth and huge population of mobile users, development of value-added service, 3G's new launching, permeation of intelligent mobile and strong needs of searching from users, while the main obstacles are listed as followed: the limitation of communication sources, the restriction of technology, and immature habits and profit-making model.
