In the era of the knowledge economy and the information age, the growth and diffusion of knowledge accelerates; the product life cycle shortens; so manufacturers face fierce competition and volatile environment; consumers face a greater scale of selection. Market demands are changing and the environment is complex, and so enterprises are facing tremendous pressure from continuous innovation. These enterprises will be invincible which can complement proper technological innovation in the shortest time. As the important part of technological innovation, acquiring the needed knowledge and technology from external knowledge sources for innovation is important. The supplier is a very important one in the company's external sources of knowledge. Suppliers in the process of innovation in the enterprise has an important role. How to make manufacturing more efficient access to external knowledge has become an urgent task of China's manufacturing industry. Therefore, study of supplier involved new product development process in manufacturing companies in China has important theoretical value.In order to explore the mechanism of manufacturers' knowledge acquisition in supplier involved in new product development,combined with suppliers involved new product development, its characteristics,the conceptual model was constructed on the theory. The results show that:(1)Suppliers involved in new product development has a positive impact for the manufacturers' knowledge acquisition,the impact of the mechanism embodied in the manufacturer and supplier relationship quality and social interaction;(2)Suppliers involved in new product development is conducive to manufacturers and suppliers to improve the relationship between the relationship quality and social interaction;(3)The relationship quality and social interaction between manufacturers and suppliers has a positive effect to the manufactures'knowledge acquisition;(4)The manufacturer's ability to absorb knowledge as a moderator effect in the process, it has a positive effect to the relationship between the quality,social interaction and the knowledge acquisition. Therefore, in order to acquire more knowledge from suppliers during the supplier involved new product development.The manufacturers should follow such aspects:(1)to strengthen cooperation with suppliers,encouraging suppliers to involved in the new product development; (2)to improve the relationship quality with suppliers;(3)to strengthen the interaction with suppliers;(4)to take measures to improve the absorptive capacity of manufacturers.
