Research On The LUCC In Minqin Based On Remote Sensing And GIS

Land use and land cover change(LUCC)is an important component part of global environmental change and one of main causes result in global environmental change, and has become hottopic of Global change research.Minqin Oasis is a typical region farming area in China, and the environment of it is brittle. It has theoretical and practical value of studying the process,features and driving forces of LUCC in the rehabilitation of the eco-system in arid and semi-arid areas in China .Based on the analysis of Landsat/TM in Minqin from 1989 to 2005,this paper try to find out features of LUCC in the region. According to this features, the author analyze the driving forces factor. The results as following:(1) The cropland area in Minqin was expanding from 1989 to 2005.The cropland was moving from downriver area to upriver area in 1989-2000.Moreover, it expand from inner to outer in the whole oasis. With the falling of water level of groundwater, the area of grassland and forest grew small, at the same time the area of Non-using-land grew large. The residential area has not much change during this period, the main change of it appeared around the county seat.(2) To analysis of driving forces of LUCC in Minqin, the main driving forces was not the natural factors but the human factors from 1989 to 2005,the natural factors just accelerated or decelerated the speed of LUCC which caused by the human factors.(3) As Minqin Region is brittle in environment and in defect of water resource, the LUCC in this area is mainly caused by the changes of water resource. And other driving forces were effected by the change of water resource in some measure. The other driving forces are the change of population,the adjust of agricultural structure,the advance of science and technology,the change of policy,the change of market requirement and goods price included.
