The Technology Innovation And Industrial Structure Upgrade In China

The economical and social structure has been undergoing a severe alteration, and the industry of our country is facing tough challenge both from home and abroad ever since China reform and opening. The world technology is progressing with each passing day, and the international competition of comprehensive national power is becoming more and more furious. The world-wide industry structural adjustment is outspreading in its upsurge. The most pressing task in China economic development is to accelerate the industry structural optimization and upgrade. The practice has proved that the key to maintain sustained fast growth of Chinese economy is to facilitate industry structural upgrade, yet the upgrade can not realize its goal effectively if it is only confined to pure economic measure within economic field. The proper way is to activate the impulse of industry structure with technology innovation, and to improve the inscape of micro-economy as well as to extend the boundary condition of economic system. To advance industry upgrade with technology innovation should deepen reform in science and technology system, increase the investment of R&D, and pay attention to the cultivation of human resource of R&D group. Meanwhile, it is necessary to construct new social culture, and to create good environment that is favorable to the growth of technical talents.The paper expounds the intrinsic relationship between technological innovation and industrial structure and analyzes their interaction based on the analyses of domestic and international theories related to technological innovation and industrial structure; it presents the problems of China's technological innovation and industrial structure by analyzing the existing situations; and the thesis proposes the potential technological innovation model—imitating innovations as a transition and ultimately realizing the independent innovation—that China should be adopted in the future by revealing the advantages and disadvantages of the major technological innovation models. On the basis of the above researches, the paper proposes some strategies to promote the upgrade of China's industrial structure, mainly including establishment and improvement of technological innovation system, the enhancement of China's independent innovation capacity; and the reform of traditional industries.
