Research On Vendor Managed Inventory Of Shipbuilding Enterprise In Supply Chain Environment

With the competitive environment of international shipbuilding market becoming fiercer and fiercer, the lower cost advantage in shipbuilding industry less and less, the traditional inventory management is no more suitable for the enterprise's development, and now they pay more attention to supply chain management. Inventory management is the important part of supply chain management (SCM), which is the key both to exert collaboration and to perform the integrated management. Therefore, the research of inventory control strategy on the shipbuilding enterprise and the relevant enterprises under the supply chain management, in the decrease of cost of supply chain and the increase of service level, have both theoretical and realistic significance.Vendor managed inventory (VMI), as a newly inventory management strategy, highly reflects the integrated SCM concept.This paper has conducted the system research on the shipbuilding enterprise VMI inventory control under the supply chain management condition,based on the research in both foreign and domestic shipbuilding industries. First it describes the inventory characteristics in shipbuilding enterprise and VMI relevant theories,then a vendor managed inventory model for shipbuilding supply chain centralizing in shipbuilding enterprise is introduced and discussed.On the analysis of kinds of fees in the process of material replenishment and transfer, build the complement and transfer models respectively aiming at the least cost and most benefits. Finally, in order to confirm the validity of the VMI inventory control model, this paper designates the shipbuilding enterprises in Shanghai district to carry on comprehensive analysis and gives out the suggestions to implement this inventory control strategy well,according to the factors that restrict VMI implementation.
