Empirical Research On Entrepreneurs' Opportunity Exploitation Decision

Alone with the persistently fast growing of Chinese economics, the number ofsmall and middle enterprises continuously increase, and the researches on theEntrepreneurship are booming. The point of research on Entrepreneurship Theory inwestern countries has been shifted from the concentration on entrepreneurs' traits tothe process of entrepreneurship. In the process of entrepreneurship, opportunityexploitation that is characteristic of resources integration is a necessarily importantstep. Based on the prior study, this paper empirically researches on the opportunityexploitation decision of entrepreneurs from the perspective of RBV in the Chineseeconomic setting, and argues that the potential entrepreneurs are likely to exploit therecognized opportunity when (s)he has the perception of holding more information ofcustomers' needs, more fully developed technologies, greater management ability,more finance and greater stakeholders'support. Meanwhile, this paper discusses therole of Lead Time on the process of opportunity exploitation, and puts forward several directions for the future researches.
