Comparison Research On Supplier Involvement In New Product Development Between Domestic Capital Enterprise And Foreign Capital Enterprise In China

As the investment environment in China is becoming more perfect, the more foreign investors are coming to China, the deeper understandings we have towards SCM. We can say that it is foreign capital enterprises' management ideology and methods that impel our understanding and development in large extent. Comparing domestic capital enterprise with foreign capital enterprise, looking for the differences of cooperation management behaviors and current situations between the two kinds enterprises on implement supplier involvement in new product development, and analysis the key influencing factors. It must have valuable guiding meanings to the management practices of our Chinese enterprise.Based on the browsing of foreign literatures on supplier involvement in new product development, the current situations of developed countries' enterprises on implement supplier involvement in new product development and their comparisons, also the cooperation management and current situations of domestic capital enterprises and foreign capital enterprises in China in recent years, this article puts forward a comparison framework between the two kinds enterprises. It compares the managerial behaviors of the two kinds enterprises from four aspects, the key influencing factors, the involvement extent of suppliers, the manufacture-supplier relationship management, product development cooperation performance. The designed questionnaire helps to enquire the cooperation behaviors with supplier on new product development of the two kinds enterprises. SPSS and Amos professional software are used to analysis the data, the differences on supplier involvement in new product development between the two kinds enterprises are validated.1) Key influencing factors. The foreign capital enterprises are better at strategy emphasis on new product development and acquirement of price advantage, the novelty of product technology, the ability of accessing suppliers' technology information, the application of multi-function development team. 2) Involvement extent. The foreign capital enterprises are better at early supplier involvement, more design responsibility, more direct communication methods.3) Relationship management. The foreign capital enterprise are better at longer cooperation time, more long-term cooperation commitment, better team working behaviors, more dedicated investment. Regretfully, both domestic capital enterprises and foreign capital enterprises do not reach a satisfied cooperation trust level.4) Cooperation performance. The foreign capital enterprises are better at shortening product development time, increasing the application of new technology at new product.
