A Study On Hotel Evolution In The City Meeting Industry Chain

Conforming to the wave of the rapid development of international meeting industry, meeting industry and meeting economy in China are also ascendant. Meeting industry is becoming a phenomenon witch attracts more and more concerns in China's economy area. The radiation function of meeting industry is one of the important factors of the Chinese hotel structure change, therefore, it is necessary to study the interaction influence between the two.This dissertation first clearly defined the related concepts of the meeting industry. On the basis of defining the meeting hotel, this dissertation determined the scope of the study in all the hotel types in the meeting industry chain, including meeting hotels and other reception hotels. About the competing and cooperating relations between meeting industry and hotel industry, this dissertation presented eight assumptions, which can be divided into three categories: the effects on the hotel supply, grade, layout, economic benefit, type made by urban meeting industry; the leading role of hotel industry as an important service reception facilities for the meeting industry; the phase influence of meeting industry and hotel industry and the upgrade of the right to speak of the hotel because of the imbalance development pace between the two. On the basis of assumptions, this dissertation selected Guangzhou, Ningbo, Shanghai, Chicago, the four meeting city which have different development levels and paths to verify the correctness of assumptions.This dissertation hopes that through the study on the evolution of the hotel structure in the city meeting industry chain to make academic innovation, while systematically inducing the hotel development paths in the city meeting industry chain, provide references for the government and the investors.
