The production system is a key in an advanced industry society, which is designed, created, joined, operated, corrected and advanced by people-this reveals the essence of human recourse in an industry society: it is people determine the job. However, this point is overlooked more or less during the practice in employee performance appraisal. For example, Balance score Card (BSC) and Key Performance Index (KPI)-both are popular currently-are the method to generate index by reducing enterprise stratagem, whose logical processes are along the job. In this situation, researching on the concept and system of employee performance appraisal has its operation significance.This dissertation firstly reviewed the theory and practice of employee performance and its appraisal (Chapter 1), discussing three major problems of them:(1) employee performance appraisal depends on enterprise stratagem unnecessarily; (2) it lacks researches on the appraisal system itself in academia; and (3) it lacks analysis on the whole rule of colony's performance.Basing on the work of Chapter 1, this dissertation continues focusing on three works: (1) Proposing a new employee performance definition-Process Performance that regards employee performance as a multidimensional process that reflects and determines the degree of combination of a person and his (her) job, and it is suggested to evaluate employee performance through this process;(2) Carrying out a system analysis on performance appraisal system, which includes Theoretic base (Chapter 2) and Specific demonstration (Chapter 3~5). The theoretic base part discusses the system's definition, structure, function, and methodology from the view of logical base of the system, system life circle, system structure, system dynamics and system engineering. The specific part analyzes the system respectively from its set, run and check; (3) Proposing the definition of Performance Graph (Chapter 2) and its concrete method (Chapter 6). Performance Graph is a concept basing on vector analysis. It analyzes the macro mechanism of colony through the curve, surface and body that composed by performance vector points that distribute in a vector space. A practice case is given in the last part (Chapter 6).
