The 21st century is the century of the world urbanization, and will be also period that China continues being quickly urbanized. The urbanization of the developed countries has lived 300 years, and Chinese urbanization which is modern has only 100 years history. Before reform and opening up, the development of Chinese urban has been slow, the level of urbanization is very low. After the reform and opening up, the development of Chinese urbanization is rapid. The level of urbanization from the 17.9% of 1978 increase the 43.0% of 2005, which has played a tremendous role for promoting Chinese economic development and social progress, improving people's living standards and enhancing the overall national strength. But compared with the developed nations, China's urbanization level is still very low, and the road has still many new problems. To solve these problems, we first need a clear theory about law of urbanization development and evolution. Only in this way, the city's sustainable development will come true and social development will be promoted.By the method of combining qualitative and comparative analysis, this paper analyzes the course of urbanization development in China and abroad, and learns from the experience of urban development for developed countries, and finds the law of development, which forms reference for Chinese urbanization development.Based on the related theory about urbanization development, starting from the world's major countries and regions in the course of urbanization development and analyzing the characteristic of urban development process, this paper is in comparison of China and the developed countries urbanization development. Through building the Logistic model of the urbanization process, this paper find the influence factors of urbanization development trajectory, and from the city (including the functions of cities, urban environment, the economy, Urban Culture) and rural areas (including agriculture, farmers) two angles to analyze the law of urbanization development. Finally on the basis above, it discusses the status and role of government and challenges they faced in urban development process.
