Reviews our urbanization the development process,it is not difficult to discover that China's urbanization has gone through a tortuous path,the urbanized level long-term lag in the industrialization advancement.Since reform and opening up,China's basically taking a government-oriented small-town-based urbanization model,makes our country's urbanized advancement to speed up obviously.However,through analysis of the pros and cons of the small towns model,we can see that the small towns model has specific historical background and it is the product of "transformation" of specific historical period,this model at the beginning of reform and opening up is reasonable and inevitable.But with the deepening of reform,institutional integrity and economic development,this model has shown a lot of drawbacks.Accordingly,the author believes that the government-oriented small-towns-based urbanization model is a helpless choice in the specific system,only can be taken as a phased goal of the process of urbanization.It should change this extensive model of development for the intensive development model.Research shows that our country is being in the industrialization intermediate stage,the urbanization acceleration period.Through the development of urbanization on foreign experience and the in-depth analysis of China's urbanization development in the past model, combined with the current stage of China's national conditions,as well as the special stage in the development of urbanization and the emergence of new trends in China,revealed that at present China should be followed the new urbanization model,which is the market-oriented urban agglomeration with urban and rural overall development.This model is in line with the urbanization of the world's laws and in accordance with China's coordinate developed concept in big cities,middle scale cities,small cities and small towns.This model is the natural selection in our country on the basis of the actual situation,which can promote the sustainable development of urbanization.
