Research On Development Strategies For Industrial Clusters In The Ha-Da-Qi Industrial Corridor

Industrial cluster is becoming an economic phenomenon which attracts more and more attention. As the trend of economic globalization expands, industrial cluster has played an important role in the regional economic growth. The thesis analyses the industrial clusters in the Ha-Da-Qi (cities of Harbin, Daqing and Qiqihar) Industrial Corridor and proposes some strategic suggestion on how to develop the industrial clusters in the Ha-Da-Qi Industrial Corridor.Firstly, the thesis summarizes the research status of the industrial cluster in both foreign countries and China. As for the research in China, it mainly uses the qualitative method without enough data support. This thesis analyzes the industrial clusters in Ha-Da-Qi Industrial Corridor by both qualitative and quantitative method.Secondly, it introduces the relevant theories about the industrial cluster, including the definition, characteristics, formation conditions and modes of the industrial cluster. It also explains the advantages of the industrial cluster. By integrating the determinants for the development of the industrial cluster with the model of Porter's National Competitive Advantage Theory, a model for the development of the industrial cluster occurs.Thirdly, the general situation of the Ha-Da-Qi Industrial Corridor was introduced in details. By the quantitative method, the industrial clusters'development status of the corridor was measured. And by qualitative method, the advantages and disadvantages of the development of the industrial cluster in the corridor was analyzed. In the last part, according to the above-mentioned analyses, the development guideline and measurements for the development of the industrial clusters in the Ha-Da-Qi Industrial Corridor was given.
