Study On Competitive Position Of Seed Industry In Jiangsu Province

Jiangsu is a traditionally strong province in agriculture. Seed industry, as the leader of jiangsu agricultural techniques, has the tremendous effect on the development of jiangsu agriculture. In the changing of planned economy system with administrational monopoly to market economy with free competition, the abuses and questions of old seed system gradually appeared. Focusing on how to speed jiangsu seed industry, and applying scientific thinking method, we analyzed seed industry status of jiangsu province, the main factors affecting the development of jiangsu province, and competitive position of seed industry in jiangsu province, and brought forward idiographic measures for improving competitive position of seed industry, which would boost the development of jiangsu agricultural economy, and accelerate the tenor of agriculture modernization.This article firstly descried the jiangsu seed industry from different aspects, such as cultivar breeding, main crops type and sowing area, seed enterprises, related basic establishments, related laws and statutes, and so on, and pointed out key questions of restricting seed industry development, including much and small seed enterprises with weak competitive position, much more varieties but wanting elites, canonical related regulations but the system of meeting an emergency was not as clear as a bell.Secondly, from the angle of favorable and adverse factors, the article analyzed the main ingredients affecting seed industry status of jiangsu province. Furthermore, based on analyzing preponderant seed enterprises in province and main rivals, the article analyzed the strength, weakness, opportunity and threats of jiangsu seed industry. By constructing researching framework and quantitative evaluating method of seed industry competitive position, the paper impersonally estimated the competitive position of jiangsu seed industry form the points of view of seed products competitive position, seed enterprises competitive position, seed industry structure competitive position and seed industry supporting surrounding competitive position, and drew the conclusion that competitive position of jiangsu seed industry was middle-strong.Thirdly, the improving stratagem that establishing clear multi-administrative levels strategic aim, strategic thought of co-running capital and famous brand, globlized visual angle but completing localized strategic principle, paying equal attention to extensional and intensional developmental strategic expanding mode, fostering core competitive position, regarding software and forming centripetal force corporation culture had been proposed in this article. Besides, some particular measures such as constructing seed industry system to promote jiangsu industry development, breeding market competitive body to improve enterprise competitive position, perfecting mechanism to strength seed industry supporting surroundings, exerting guild function to speed seed industry self-discipline, and so on, also were discussed.Finally, aiming the main policies, including seed laws and regulations, plant new variety protection byelaw, and good-seed subsidy policy, the article also parsed their main problems and presented improving strategies.
