The shipbuilding total of has ascended into the leading ranks of the world, yet the status in quo of the throughput, techniques, building mode, and the marine equipment industry lags far behind, when compared with countries developed in shipping industry. Large gaps still exist between the industry of ship building and marine equipment, as the marine equipment products are dwarfed when compared with that of countries like Japan, Korea, and those from Europe, from perspectives of quality, performance and variety, and therefore restricts the development of the shipbuilding industry. While facing the unreasonable phenomenon in the development of shipping industry, we have to approach from the angle of a whole picture, conducting an analysis into the whole situation of the shipping industry in our country, which could hopefully pave the way for a more prosperous shipping industry.Based on the life cycle theory of shipbuilding industry and the internal structure of a cluster in industrial cluster theory, the thesis, from the perspective of shipbuilding restructuring, analyzes the status in quo of the ship building industry in our country and brings forward countermeasures which could hopefully assist in giving impetus to the development of the shipbuilding industry. Above all, the thesis expatiate the researching objective and significance, and then, based on analysis into factors which influence the world's shipbuilding market, determines the development trend of the entire world shipbuilding market and points out several directions the world shipbuilding market is heading for.Taking for reference the analyzing angle of "diamond model" theory from Michael Porter, features along the developing course and status in quo of countries developed in shipbuilding industry such as Japan, Korea, and those of Europe, superficial and deep-rooted competitiveness theory from "Noryoku Kochiku Kyoso" by Fujimoto Takahiro, the thesis differentiates these features and points out the existing problems of the shipbuilding industry, and last but not least, based on the experiences of countries developed in shipbuilding industry and also taking into account the reality faced by our country, puts forward ideas and countermeasures in the shipbuilding industry reengineering from perspectives industrial cluster, shipbuilding and marine equipment industry.
