Research On Relationship Between Port Development And Regional Economic

There is always a common rule during the thriving and development of nearly all port cities in the world: port prospers city, and port flourishes together with city. Port could not only promote the economical development of the city it owed to, but also bring along the economical development of areas about and hinterlands. So, there lies tight relationship between a port and its locality. At the same time, hinterland urban city and regional economic development can enhance the competitiveness of the port, providing more goods and services. The relationship between regional development and the port economic is closer. In future, along with the uninterrupted growth of the market economy, it is necessary to quicken the unification of regional economy. Port will play a growing important role in the development of regional economy. Therefore, it is vital to measure the port's contribution to the growth of city and regional economy scientifically.China has become the main battle field of international shipping and container shipping growth engine in the world. Container transportation has become a modern major trends in the transport industry, which has also become a measure of the status of the port and core standards of a port of the importance. This paper has explored the port container transportation and regional economic development issues theoretically and empirically. The theoretical study shows how to promote mutual development through the interaction between regional economic and port economic, which is often reflected in the light of the relationship between the city and port. On the one hand, the article reveals the evolution of the relationship between them, on the other hand, reveals the mechanism of the interaction of relations between the port and city. Between the port city and between the port, there is increasingly fierce competition, that do not just rely on their own infrastructure and equipment. the port transportation can not be independent of the city to achieve, but needs regional economic development to improve the competitiveness of the port. At the same time, the region also makes full use of the port's advantages to promote their economic growth.This dissertation discusses relationship between port's development and regional economic improvement, which port's layout improves regional economy ultimately and regional economy how to drive port development. Relationship between port and region is extension of relationship between port and city. Competition between port cities and competition between ports are intensive gradually, competition between ports no longer depend on their facilities and material only. Port's transportation is not independence of city but depends on the economic development in the city to increase the competition ability of the port.Meanwhile, the area is fully utilizing the advantage of the port to impel its economic growth too.This dissertation firstly sorts out research situation and study methods of scholars at home and abroad, and gives the main contents of this paper, then follows the interaction theory between the regional economic and the port. After making qualitative appraisal to port and regional economy, It makes use of the gray connection analysis method, discussing quantitatively the relation between the container throughput and economy targets, and then chooses DEA method quantitative appraisal contribution of port to regional economy. What is more, the paper also uses DEA to appraise the validity of the port and urban economy separately. On this basis, divide the port city into 4 kinds and announced different relationship between port and city. Then through making new production function with throughput variable of the structure further analyses some port cities finally, explain the significance of port's contribution to urban economy. At the end of the article, several measures are put forward to make port, city and hinterland developing in harmony.
