With the acceleration of world economic integration,Trade between countries is increasing. As the derivatives of international trade, since its birth, the container transportation has been in development.So far,container transport has been the main form of internation transportation.With the development of our economy and the growth of our international trade,China's container transportation has rapid development. Container transport has tremendous social and economic benefits, it is conducive to the development of the port and its hinterland.Because of this, in order to adapt to the development of container, local governments have invested heavily on the port construction. After financial crisis and economic stimulus appearring, by speeding up transportation infrastructure,our country speeds up port construction. To the "five-second"period, the countries are accelerating the pace of port investment. With the acceleration of the port construction, The overcapacity of the container ports is also increasingly becoming a topic of concern in the industry.Because of this, study on the overcapacity of the container ports in china is needed.For these reasons, based on research, this paper studies on the overcapacity of the container ports in china using qualitative and quantitative analysis.First, the article analyzes the emergence and development of container transportation, focus on the current development of container ports;Then,using Gompertz,it predicts China's future demand on container throughput,and analyzes the factors that affect the development of China's container port;Based on this, it empirically analyzes of the overcapacity of the container ports in china;Finally, according to the situation of the development of China's container ports,this paper put forward suggestions for future development of China's container ports.
