The human resources are the most important resources! The party and the country pay much more attention on talents issues, hence how to stimulate the work initiative of employees in enterprises and other kinds of institutions, so as to promote their work efficiency, increase the economical outcome, have received the concern of enterprise manager, meanwhile, it's also becoming the most important part and tough point of human resource management.The thesis takes the management science, the applied psychology as the research angle, and utilizes the research methods such as literature analysis, questionnaire, interview and so on. And the thesis investigates the present situation of work initiative and its antecedents of 450 employees on different enterprise kind and post through compiling the credible and valid"The questionnaire of work initiative of employees in enterprise". Then it analyzes the correlation between the work initiative and its antecedents deeply. At last, it puts forward some cultivating measure on the basis of previous study.Through the empirical study, the research gets the main conclusions as follows,1) The mean value of work initiative of employee remains the moderate level, (3.62); and the appraisal on performing ability is in the first place (4.11); the appraisal on work planning ability (3.73), work roles (3.67) and problem-solving ability (3.66) remains the moderate level; while the independent work ability (3.31) and the work choice situation (3.27) are relatively lower. The employees in enterprises with different position and enterprise kinds shows significant difference on six dimensions of work initiative except the employees with different gender, age, education background.2) The mean value of work initiative antecedents of enterprise employees obtained mean value are in turn: Leadership style, enterprise management system and soft environment, enterprise incentive mechanism, staff professional ability, enterprise culture atmosphere, work flow and content, staff professional personality, staff body wisdom, enterprise to staff's guidance and fusion.3) The appraisal on cultivating measures of employee work initiative can be categorized into 5 aspects, which are leadership style, the enterprise management system and the soft environment, the enterprise incentive mechanism, the enterprise culture atmosphere, the work flow and the content. 4) The thesis puts forward some cultivating measure based on 3 aspects: promoting employees'synthetic professional competence, regulating the management and incentive system, building the excellent culture atmosphere combined with the current situation of work initiative and its antecedents.
