Chongqing based engineering firm as a leading enterprises under market-oriented reform by Chongqing Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources and its Geological Team 107, has developed a geological survey's main development strategy. With the rising of prices on the international resources, this makes many mining companies and private enterprises to join the exploration of mineral resources in the market, as well as China appears investment exploration of a new round of overseas mineral. Faced with such fierce competition and a huge impact, the core competitive of Chongqing based engineering firm endures greater competitive threat, this indicates that there is the heavy task of structural adjustment and market competition pressure, So the company's development strategy does have the necessary transition.In this paper, strategic management theory and methods has been used, We analyze the new internal and external business environment of Chongqing based engineering company, to the use of the advantages and opportunities to overcome weaknesses and threats. Based on comprehensive assessment and analysis of the company existing development strategy, We propose restructuring its strategy. First of all, we use five force model to analysis companies external environment; Secondly, we use SWOT method to analysis the advantages and disadvantages of the company and opportunities and threats. When to evaluate internal factors, there are the strengths the same as weaknesses, slightly higher than the average level of superiority; but to external environment factors, environment is better than the average, more opportunities and less threat. The opportunities: international prices of mineral in a row up, strategy going out; but the threat: contraction in the market; other companies to join the ranks of overseas exploration.Thirdly, the company will transit its strategy, form "the exploration of mineral resources" to "exploration and developers of mineral resources." The final location is the first-class mineral resources exploration and development companies. Fourthly, to raise the company's future strategy, we put forward the development of the overall goals and stages of decomposition.In the end, in the implementation of the strategic restructuring of the company, we put firstly forward the security plan of the strategic restructuring, including gold, manganese and plumbum project in Laos. Then is followed by the security measures, such as cultivating the core of competitiveness and choosing overseas prospecting and mining business strategy. We will focus on the flexibility of organizational structure, the advantages of human resources, channels of capital flow and call of enterprise culture, So we will successfully achieve Company strategy transition.
