Research On The Development Strategy And The Status Of Modern Service Industry Of Chongqing City

At present, China is in the period of transforming from the industrial economy to a knowledge-based economy, to accelerate the development of modern service industries, to raise the scientific and technological level of modern service industry and to form the comprehensive development of the service industry pattern emerging industries led by new technology, all of these are the needs of optimizing the economic structure and of building a well-off society for the comprehensive strategic goal. In a stage, modern service industry is not only an important economic growth point in Chongqing, but also the key areas for Chongqing to adjust the industrial structure and optimize the investment environment, strengthen the functions of cities. To implement the concept of scientific development, to implement the "315" strategic plan and to speed up the development of modern service industry in Chongqing, which needs to further unify understandings, clarify the focus and perfectify policies.In order to enhance co-ordination, give prominence to the key issues, make the layout ahead of time, and make efforts to resolve the strategic, overall and crucial issues that constrain the development of the modern service industry, Chongqing Municipal Committee on Science and Technology organize the implementation of the Chongqing Municipal scientific and technological projects"Report on the Development of modern service industry in Chongqing Municipality"in 2007, the purpose is to ascertain the modern service industry in Chongqing Municipality the overall level of development, size, the employment and the specific situation of various sectors in modern service industries. This paper is based on the study of this project.This paper aimed to put forward some countermeasures and suggestions which are of certain value to the development of modern service industry in Chongqing Municipality based on the analysis of the development of modern service industry in Chongqing, together with the actual situation of economic and social development in Chongqing Municipality. In this paper, the author firstly explained the definition of the modern service industry and clarified the scope of modern service industry ; reached some beneficial inspirations to the development of the modern service industry in Chongqing, according to the analysis of the development situation and strategies of modern service industry of developed countries and regions both domestic and abroad; to find out the practical problems existing in the development of the modern service industry in Chongqing based on the study of the development situation of modern service industry in Chongqing; then made an objective evaluation of the development level of Chongqing's modern service industry, by using the data of the first national economic census in 2004, through the establishment of evaluation index system ;at last to put forward practical countermeasures and suggestions for the development of modern service industry in Chongqing Municipality based on the above analysis.
