| The increasing influences of the products by Shenyang Astronautics Mitsubishi (SAME), together with the success in the development of new types of engines, made SAME enter into an expanded market and brought SAME new customers, and consequently, SAME will face more serious challenges.With the doubling and even more tripling purchasing quantity, and the expanding supply chains, the traditional communication ways, such as telephone, email and fax, can not provide complete and timely information to suppliers. Under new situation, suppliers usually make phone call to procurement and ask for updated production schedule, detail part storage and on dock information. Due to the increasing customers, sale schedule subject to change, the existing supply chains could not accommodate to the new environment, and potentially, could be broken at any moment. The previous work practices could be in disorder because of staff in a hurry-scurry state for answering and replying, meanwhile, the information department will be impacted by the disordered working method, making them busy in data statistics and information printing.Following the soaring up of raw material and oil price, suppliers usually require to increase the price of parts and components, however, the auto manufacturers, in order to be in a good position in cost competition, constantly ask for SAM to decrease the engine price. Suffering the pressures from both suppliers and auto manufacturers, how to effectively decreasing the engine cost has become the most important issue.The effective measure will increase the speed of cash flow, minimize the detail storage, and reduce unnecessary procurement. This could be achieved by placing PO based on production schedule, and making part-demand forecast for near future, then our supplier will produce and deliver products per our real-time schedule, thus avoiding unnecessary storage, and making purchasing cost in a lower level.It will take a large amount of resources in manpower and finance to notify the supplier to change their schedule if the storage management is in a manual way, however, this manual way can not produce the results we expected. In order to improve the working efficiency, the specific software, as a support tool, is necessary.This article, based on SAME existing procurement system, study the integration of data from BPCS, ZQMES/ZQTPL systems, meanwhile, optimize SAME existing procurement process, and develop new supplier information management system, called VIM. The main research and study are as below:1. Study the BPCS, ZQMES/ZQTPL system data interface and integration them intonew software systemThe original software system is still kept in use, and the data for the newly developedsystem is from the original database. The table structure of original database was studiedand the corresponding relationship between existing and new system was established.Definition, data type, and description should be same for the two systems. The new systemnot only read in the original database, but also can send the information from suppliers intothe database.2. Design functional block based on optimized procurement processBased on optimized procurement process, established and determined 7 managementblocks, including storage management, material demand schedule management, POmanagement, invoice management, delivery management, supplier management andinformation publication management. By using the data in the blocks, finance andinformation can be transferred, and the whole procurement process can be operated. Systemrun management includes log inquiry, business affairs, system data maintenance, datadictionary maintenance, system user maintenance, user authorization maintenance. Storagemanagement includes temporary storage and SAME storage release, entry storageinformation inquiry. PO management includes PO placing, publication, confirmation,change and inquiry. Invoice management includes invoice information publication,confirmation and inquiry. Delivery management includes delivery record, confirmation andinquiry. Material demand management can query the detail part demand schedule for currentmonth and the next 4 months. Public information includes information publication, inquiryfunction. If agreement is reached for the all information, the program will be broken downfor design, then software block design can be realized and the data can be exchanged amongblocks.3. Design Database table structure according to function block definitionThe database system management is established based on the considerations of abidingby database table structure design, specific requirement of DB2 for iSeries database, noproducing surplus data and reducing the size of database. There are 31 database tables, 15graphs in the database. The 31 database tables are separate to the original BPCS,ZQMES/ZQTPL systems. Considering that only material demand schedule and invoice information will be queried from the original BPCS, ZQMES/ZQTPL systems, therefore, the above information (material demand schedule and invoice information) is not established in the SCMWEB. This way reduce the work amount by eliminating inputting the existing data, thus lowering the system cost, meanwhile, avoiding the mistakes resulted from data inputting. There could exist the possibility that, if the company business process changes in the future, the data could be exchanged between the new system and the original three systems, that is to say, during the data inquiry, the data in the original three systems could added or modified, if this situation happens, we will consider to establish a rule to control and verify the adding data to be correct, and this is synchronized.4. Use reliable and powerful softwareThe popular software, ASP.NET r.a.d.GRID, could shorten the development cycle, and reduce the development difficulties. The previous development was to use Microsoft DATAGRID to establish the DATASET, and if the OUTLOOK style dataset can be realized through the DATAGRID, then the complicated codes will be prepared. If r.a.d.GRID is used, then there will be no need of complicated programming, meanwhile, r.a.d.GRID provide the connection to EXCEL, and multi-row data could selected at the same time, the column could be sequenced, this reduce the development difficulties and save the time.5. Design per SAME requirement and meet SAME procurement management requirementsThe supplier information management system (VIM) is developed based on the SAME existing procurement management, and meets the requirement of existing procurement. During the system design, the procurement process is improved effectively, the responsibilities for each functional department is further clarified, after about 6 months test, the system has been put into formal use in SAME. Due to easy operation, friendly interface and design, easy maintenance, reliability, this system is accepted by the suppliers of SAME, and become an indispensable tool for their routine work. |
