Research On The Product Function Integration Innovation

Product function is what customers demand for. Products can improve its competitiveness by function innovation. As a trend of way product function innovation, the function integration innovation is an effective way for enterprises to implement the Blue Ocean Strategy. In view of this, the paper studies on the theory and the methods of function integration innovation through analysis of function markets and user needs.The paper firstly defines the concept of function integration innovation and the related, analyzes the basic principles and main characteristics of it, studies its strategic role from the view of customer value, enterprise organizations and industry organizations, and makes the theoretic foundation for function integration innovation.Then, from the perspective of technical methods of innovation strategy implementation, the paper studies the pre-planning of function integration innovation including demands analysis and technical choice.Finally, the design methods of function integration innovation are mainly studied. According to a single product or not, this paper proposes two function integration innovation methods: With the help of the check-list of Osborn, the first is to explore the idea of function integration innovation in a single product by enlightening searching manner. The second is to find whether there is a possibility to integrate the functions in a wide range of products by fuzzy clustering way. And then combined with some case studies, the paper gives some typical methods for function integration innovation from the design aspects of function composition, function balance and coordination function, which return function requirements table and the idea of designers to specific product programs and ensure the best results of it.
