Over the recent years, along with the process of economic globalization and the transfer of the international furniture industry, Chinese furniture industry, especially Chinese wooden furniture industry has been developing quickly, The export trade of Chinese wooden furniture industry also has been developing quickly, which attracts people's attention worldwide. Wooden furniture industry is an important part of Chinese forestry industry, therefore, The sustainable development of Chinese wooden furniture can promote the moden forest construction. With the background of intense competition of global furniture industry, doing some research on Chinese wooden furniture's international competitiveness is of great significance. The analysis of Chinese wooden furniture industry's international competitiveness is this essay's mainline. With the analysis of moden furniture international trade condition, With the tools of market share (Ms), trade competition (TC) and revealed comparative advantage (RCA) and Px index, I calculate the international competitiveness of Chinese wooden furniture during the period from 1992 to 2007 and get a conclusion that the international competitiveness of Chinese wooden furniture is comparatively strong, however, there is a gap between China and some other countries in wooden furniture industry. In this paper, I use Porter's Diamond Model to analyze the competitiveness of Chinese wooden furniture industry from its producing, market need, relevant industries, company's stratege. The conclusion is that Chinese wooden furniture industry is unsustainable, China should promote its international competitiveness with the hardwork of the government, the wooden furniture industry union and wooden furniture companies.
