The current process of urbanization, the layout of rural settlements is unreasonable, the contradiction between increasing demand for urban construction land and the need to protect arable land are getting more and more prominent. At the same time, new countryside construction is in full swing, integrated planning of new urban and rural areas are being gradually carried out. Spatial distribution of rural settlements optimization, intensive use of land resources conservation, to alleviate land conflicts and narrow the urban-rural gap and building a socialist harmonious society is of great practical significance. Therefore, in Changping District of Beijing as an example, focusing on the optimization of spatial distribution of rural settlements and intensive land use patterns. In this paper, GIS data processing technology as the work platform, to take the literature study, a comprehensive survey and field investigation to verify the combination of the typical form to qualitative, quantitative, three-phase combination of positioning. Papers focus on optimizing the spatial distribution of rural settlements and intensive land use pattern of the center, in theory, methods, technology, and many other aspects of empirical research conducted.(1)Spatial distribution of rural settlements based on the characteristics of qualitative and quantitative factors in the delineation of the type of rural settlements. Starting from a number of influencing factors are analyzed in Changping District, the characteristics of the spatial distribution of rural settlements and the impact of factors; in accordance with the extent of the impact of different factors, combined with the principle of residential type, Changping District, the rural settlements will be divided into four types: mountain geology Disaster migration type, reservation type of ecological environment, urban development and central planning-type village.(2)Reference to the existing urban and rural settlements in the overall planning and layout methods of finishing, Changping District, combined with the geographical and regional characteristics, as well as a variety of programs in practice may be in the process of interoperability, on the different types of rural settlements in line with local conditions of the proposed space layout Optimization program: the gradual removal, rehabilitation and retention of retained development, urbanization syndicated layout-based, satellite-style layout of the village center.(3)Intensive land use from rural settlements in the concept of patterns, summarized a number of rural settlements in the theory of intensive land use pattern and practice patterns; from two aspects of macro-and micro-sites of intensive theoretical and practical models are compared and analyzed. Summarized in the intensive land use in accordance with the modalities and the typical village in Changping District, the field survey of rural settlements in the status quo, and creativity for the proposed three rural settlements in Changping District, land-intensive pattern of development: the mountains scattered pattern of intensive land use, land-intensive pattern of concentration of plains, traffic with intensive land use pattern of symptoms. Changping District, combined with the layout optimization and the corresponding land-intensive analysis, in line with local conditions, to have intensive scattered layout, the layout of a more intensive focus.
