Study On Protection And Sustainable Development Of Cultural And Natural Heritage In Fangshan Global Geopark

Fangshan Global Geopark was ranked as the global geopark at the 2nd Global Geopark Conference which was held by UNESCO on September in 2006. Fangshan Global Geopark is rich in geological remains and cultural heritage resources, divided into eight major parks that with different features and protection and development situations, and currently in the initial stage of the overall planning. Each park of the geopark has an existence of a certain extent question in the heritage resources and ecological environment protection, resource development and tourism planning, and sustainable development, so it has become particularly important for the protection, development and realization of sustainable development of the park's natural and cultural heritage. This paper takes Fangshan Global Geopark as a research object, uses geopark theory, heritage protection and development theory, sustainable development theory and etc., makes the park's overall geological causes analysis, resources' classification and evaluation, and takes the natural heritage of Shidu Karst Valley Park and the World Culture Heritage of Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site for examples, makes the analysis of the two geological sites' quantitative assessments and the calculations of the environmental capacity, and respectively poses the protection and development principles and measures and the sustainable development models and strategies of the parks' natural and cultural heritage.The whole thesis consists of six parts: Part 1. The research objective and methods are presented based on the analysis of the present protection and study of the domestic and alien geoparks; Part 2. An overview of the Fangshan Global Geopark is analyzed, and the function zoning and location of the geopark are made;Part 3. The survey and classification and qualitative evaluation of the geopark's geological heritage resources are made according to the geological heritage resource classification and evaluation principles and methods; Part 4. The base attribute of Shidu Karst Canyon Park is analyzed, the quantitative evaluation of Shidu park geosites and the tourism environmental capacity measurement of Shidu park are made, and based on these, the protection and development principles and measures and the sustainable development models and strategies of Shidu park are proposed by the use of geopark's protection and development theory and the sustainable development theory; Part 5. The value and the current situation and existing problems of the protection and development of Zhoukoudian Peking Man site are pointed out, the countermeasures and suggestions of protection and development are posed, the quantitative evaluation and the environmental capacity calculations of tourism resources of Zhoukoudian Peking Man site are made, and the sustainable development strategies are proposed; Part 6. This part is the summary of the whole thesis.
