Strategy Study Of Technical Barriers To Trade Of Ningbo Textile Industry

China is the largest textile and clothing exporter in the world. After China's entry into the WTO, export of textile and clothing has increased year after year and market share has improved continuously. Many foreign countries have paid great attention to such boom and brought barriers to our trade taking advantage of advanced technology and legality of TBT so as to defend the interests of their corresponding industry. Textile and clothing industry is a traditional mainstay industry of Ningbo and gross export has increased year by year. However, impact of TBT on export is also expanding increasingly.Thus, it is a pressing problem calling for solution for Ningbo textile industry to realize impact of TBT on export and take countermeasures to knock down TBT actively. Therefore, studying the impact of TBT on Ningbo textile industry has the extremely important practical significance.Based on the origin, characters and forms of TBT, this article analyzes the character of technical innovation, main reasons for increasing TBT and shows various means of knocking down TBT. This article also puts forward a theory that the nature of TBT is the imbalance of technical levels between different countries and technical innovation is the major method to break TBT. Then, this paper analyzes impact of TBT on Ningbo textile industry, covering development status quo and trend of international textiles and clothing industry; characters of TBT on textiles brought by the European Union (EU), the United States and Japan; impact of TBT on China's textile export; development status quo and problems of Ningbo textiles as well as impact of TBT on Ningbo textiles. Afterwards, this paper generalizes the internal and external factors affecting the Ningbo textile industry dealing with TBT by means of SWOT analysis method. A strategy is proposed for Ningbo textile industry to deal with TBT accordingly, i.e., technical research innovation, technical standards innovation and management innovation. Finally, the biggest textile export company and leading textile company in Ningbo-Veken Group is employed as an example to testify the theory that technical innovation is the major method to break TBT.
