Study On Industrial Cluster Development In Western Area

In the tidal wave of economic globalization, industrial cluster has become considerable characteristic economic organization form in world economy. A country or a region's economic status is reflected mainly by the competitiveness of its industries. The competition advantages of industry cluster consist in cost advantage, regional marketing advantage, technique innovation advantage resource sharing advantage and market competition advantage. As an effective mode of promoting regional economic development, industrial cluster has received more and more attention theoretically and practically. The strategy of"western area development"has been implemented for ten years, but the even larger economic development gap between east and west, the even greater agglomeration of capital and other factors in the east and the economic condition in the west make developing industrial cluster a reasonable choice for the west. Therefore, the main purpose of this thesis is to explore how to cultivate new clusters and how to support the sustainable development of existing clusters in the west.Basing on the connotation and exoteric of the industrial cluster, the thesis concludes the characteristic of industrial cluster, analyses the effect and risk from dialectic standpoint, point out that industrial cluster can make underdeveloped area to improve industrial situation of its own and accumulate capital and enhance competitive force, which is a necessary and feasible choice to underdeveloped area. The thesis chooses some classic case analysis concerning domestic and foreign industrial cluster and shows us that industrial cluster has great effect upon regional economy, but existing much difference, so the different area should be treated in the different way. At the end of the thesis give some advice to industrial cluster in western area: foster characteristic industry and harmonize the function among government organizations and enterprises; improve the environment of the industrial cCluster; create the innovation of industrial cluster.As researches on industrial cluster are still immature in China currently, the majority of industrial cluster researches are set up on the experience of west developed countries, therefore the thesis mainly employs qualitative analysis method and tries to study the advantage and disadvantage of western areal industrial cluster and development mode of the domestic and foreign industrial cluster from demonstration angle, and thus explores the realistic route to foster and develop western areal industrial cluster. The thesis esteems that developing industrial cluster in western area of China regards not only common rule in domestic industry development, but also staggers competition with eastern industrial cluster. The western area industrial cluster mainly develops energy sources deep-processing and farm and livestock products and high-tech industry and tourism industry proceeding actual conditions of western area, and standing current industrial basis and resources gift and cultural preservation as well. The development of west industrial cluster doesn't neglect state-owned enterprise effect and speeds up state-owned enterprise reform, and establishes industrial cluster matched to small and medium-sized enterprise with state-owned enterprise at the core; whilst encourages the development of private enterprise, meanwhile assembles small and medium-sized enterprises in order to set up industrial cluster of"one village one product"with marketing as the orientation.
