With GDP's continuously fast increasing, China calls for improving the ability of national independent innovation, to face the challenge of global technological revolution and industrial revolution. As the largest less developed country, China is still in need of largely importing foreign advanced technology and comprehending the imported technology in order to improve independent technology innovation and central international competitiveness. On the condition that gross technology import amount is continuously increasing, how to take good use of the technology import to promote the ability of our national independent innovation? This thesis is trying to find out how deeply technology import affects our independent technology innovation, and to supply some valuable materials to the known researches.First, this thesis analyzes the relevant theories, research background and significance of technology innovation and technology import. On the basis, the paper analyzes the inherent relation between technology import and technology innovation, in order to get a comprehensive apprehension of the way in which they are interacting. Then, the paper shows the circumstances of China's technology import and researches the problems existing in it. Furthermore, the central part of this study is to analyze the influence of technology import to independent technology innovation by the empirical method. Finally, on the basis of the above analysis, the paper makes some suggestions on the government's policies to promote our independent technology innovation.The practical innovation of this thesis focuses on using quantitative regression model to analyze the influence from technology import to independent technology innovation. The thesis quotes data of gross technology import, total expenditure on research and development, gross expenditure on national education, foreign direct investment and GDP, etc. in order to analyze the level of influence from technology import to independent technology innovation of China. The empirical analysis suggests that the affection from technology import to independent technology innovation of China is not obvious and the technology import has little influence to the international competitiveness of China.
