Application Research On Competency Model In Staff Selection And Training

Competency model is a hot topic in the study of human resources management at present, more and more scholars and enterprises research and applied of competency model. Competency model is closed to the staff selection and training .I built the software engineer competency model, and applied it in the staff selection and training.Firstly, the competency and competency model of literatures are studied systematically. The concept and classification of competency are researched, in particular the principles, methods and processes in establishing the competency model.Secondly, the problems in traditional staff selection and training and the meaning of the competency model are studied. At a later time, specific applications of the competency model in the staff selection and training are studied. In the selection of staff, the match of"post-staff–enterprises"was proposed. It can make up for the negligence on deep competency and corporate strategy and corporate culture in traditional staff selection and training.Thirdly, software engineers'competency model for the M company which is a software outsourcing enterprises is built through literature research, surveys and so on. There are ten kinds of competences in the competency model. Typical behaviors are described for the ten kinds of competences.Finally, the M's software engineers'competency model is applied to the staff selection and training. In staff selection, the competency model is used in recruitment and selecting resume and testing on the knowledge and skills, particularly in connection with behavior interview. There are two questions of behavior interview for every competency. In staff training, the competency model is used in analyzing demand, selecting the kind and method and training assessment for the training. At the same time, many training methods and assessment form are provided.
