| The automotive companies, as a provider of special assembled products, only concentrate on the work of body manufacture and assembly of automobile, whereas most of the parts are supplied by the suppliers. It has become an important subject for the automotive companies that how to ensure the parts and raw materials supplied by suppliers to reach the requirement, how to achieve the sustaining improvement of the product quality and how to reduce the purchasing cost. The evaluation, selection and management of suppliers have become one of the key factors for automotive companies to face the competition and enhance the core competence of industry. This paper tries to discuss how to evaluate, select and manage the suppliers.According to the actual situation of automotive industry, the following items in this paper have been analyzed in detail: the relationship between automotive companies and part suppliers, the structure and feature of supply chain of automotive industry, the classification of the suppliers, and the essence of the relationship between automotive company and the suppliers, and the development procedure for suppliers. In this paper the suppliers are classified into two categories: one is partner suppliers and the other is normal suppliers. The evaluation index systems are established according to the classification. The linear planning method based on AHP is used to evaluate and select the normal suppliers and the ANP method is used to evaluate and select the partner suppliers. Based on the research of management of suppliers, this paper has pointed out the risk on selection of suppliers and the importance for management of suppliers. Finally the paper has brought forward some suggestions for future management. |
