Mindray Medical International Limited, a Stock Ltd. Co. invested by foreign fund which is approved to establish by China Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation, is a State Key Hi-tech enterprise registered in Shenzhen. Since this company was built in 1991, it has been devoted into the research and development of Hi-tech medical devices, offering more than 50 high cost-performance products across three products segments, with totally Independent Intellectual Property Rights. Through these years' development, this company has become into the most influential medical products enterprise, distributing products in over 140 countries worldwide. In 2006, Mindray was listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Due to reasonable company's developing strategy, company keeps an increase of 50% every year. It's good experience for other private enterprises to learn from Strategy Management Theory System and analyze Mindray's formulating development strategy, in order to offer some reasonable suggestions for company's development in the future at the same time.Discussion about company's strategic development is countless, while there is few talking about a company's growth in medical devices industry, especially about domestic part. That's because this industry is extremely professional and owns few working staff, also no plenty related reports due to initial development in recent years. Therefore, it's significant to get into capitalized theme about medical devices industry.In earlier years, the whole Chinese medical devices market was occupied by foreign brands products, while great change is taking during these years. Take Mindray's monitoring devices as an example, 90% percent is held in the hand of GE, PHILIPS, but the rise of Mindray enforced them to lose the percent down to less than 45%, with tremendously drop of their price at the same time, offering large benefit to Chinese medical organizations. In other fields such as radiation or examination, the same phenomenon is taking place, that domestic brands are expanding their market. Accompanied with the Policy of Reform and Opening up, such cases as Mindray to contend with foreign enterprises are happening in many fields within China. In domestic medical devices industry, the rising up of national industry of Mindray is especially representative. Therefore, this report starts with the inside and external environment of Mindray, then goes into the analysis about the Mindray's developing strategy's feasibility by SWOT, especially discusses about it's competitive strategy and internationalization strategy, which is significant for most of domestic national enterprises, and also meaningful for growth of the whole medical devices industry.
