The research of work-family relationship began to thrive in the Western culture in the 1970's,however,there have been relatively few studies in this area in China.A brief review of previous studies revealed that most studies in this area focused on the work-family conflict,yet not so much attention was paid to work-family enrichment, especially in China.For these reasons,the present study explored work-family enrichment,the positive side of the work-family relationship,and its relationship with job performance and life satisfaction among Chinese employees.A Chinese version of the work-family enrichment questionnaire was developed to measure work-family enrichment,job performance questionnaire was used to measure job performance and life satisfaction was measured with life satisfaction questionnaire. Through Independent-Samples t Test,One-Way ANOVA,Correlate Analysis,and Regression Analysis,the relationship among work-family enrichment,job performance and life satisfaction were explored.The main conclusions are as follows:First,the modified questionnair of work-family enrichment includes two factors: work-to-family enrichment and family-to-work enrichment,which is samed to the original questionnaire.The reliability and validity of the questionnaire are tested acceptable.Second,work-to-family enrichment was affected by several factors,such as gender, age,education,time of service and income.However,family-to-work enrichment was only affected by income.Third,work-to-family enrichment dimension of work-family enrichment had significant predictable effects on life satisfaction;two dimensions of work-family enrichment had significant predictable effects on job performance.These findings enriched of knowledge of the relationship between work and family in Chinese culture.Implication for Human resource managers,limitations of the present study and directions for future research were discussed in the end.
