The Empirical Analysis On The Influence From The R&D Of Colleges And Universities To The High-tech Industry Development In China

In the majority of countries, colleges and universities are growing to be the major of basic research, the important power of high-tech and applied science research, and the significant resource of the technological innovation. Meanwhile, the high-tech industry is regarded as not only the important industry in which techno ledge drives the industry development and the economy increase, but also the major position where international economy and techno ledge are in competition. For this reason, the influence of the R&D of colleges and universities on high-tech industry has attracted scholar and government's attention, and so it is important to study the influence in theory and application.This paper first summarizes the results in domestic and abroad and induces the theory about the influence, then there follows a discussion about the major method and pattern of the influence. Secondly, it detects the status quo about the R&D of colleges and universities, and discusses the advantage and disadvantage in the course of the high-tech industry development. Based on this research, it uses the index which indicates R&D and high-tech industry development to conduct quantitative analysis. In this part of empirical research, it investigates the relationship between the R&D of colleges and universities and the high-tech industry development by VAR and VEC. Additionally, this paper inspects the influence in the long run by IRF and Variance Decomposition. Through this paper's study it finds out that the R&D of colleges and universities promotes the high-tech industry development in the very functional way, and the growing R&D capacity accelerates the high-tech industry development, of course, this function will keep a long time. But there exists a longer lag about the influence than other countries; it obstructs the high-tech industry further development to some extent. Accordingly, this paper gives some suggestions to accelerate the transformation from colleges and universities to high-tech industry, and stimulate the high-tech industry further development.
