Market-oriented economy is a contract economy in form while it is a credit economy in content. In the market economy, keeping the credit to perform the contract can guarantee a stable economic system. Credit was born with risks. As a result,credit analysis and credit management emerged thereafter. As the economic globalization in recent years, credit issue becomes more complicated and focused throughout the world. As a product of the market economy, economical credit evaluation is a comprehensive evaluation targeting on repay ability, repay willingness and reliability.As an ingredient part of national economy, food industry keeps a stable development to meet the social needs. However, our food industry is still doing weak in accommodating funds, developing enterprise size and promising the food safety etc., which prevent the healthy development of provision industry. Lack of credit is now one of the most important reasons which disturbs the market economy order. Therefore, how to evaluate the economical credit of our food industry scientifically is a burning question in building a healthy market economy. It would help to improve a company's credit consciousness, and push it to be standard and legitimate.Based on the principle of from theory to practice, this paper applies both the qualitative and quantitative analysis, comprehensively studied on our economical credit evaluation system in the food industry.This paper firstly investigated the subject in detail, introducing the definition and theory basis of economical credit evaluation, and elaborating features and the current situation of food industry as well. Then based on a large quantity of existed materials about economical credit evaluation index systems and credit evaluation methods, the author utilized the achievements home and abroad to put forward our economical credit evaluation system for china's food industry which should be in consistent with our national conditions. This system includes index choosing, weight defining, evaluate methods choosing, evaluate criteria and results display. Thereafter, we applied this system to the practice with 63 representative food cooperation chosen from our country. The study result showed that it can not only evaluate the economical credit, but also showed reasons for the levels. In the end, the study also proposed suggestions to build up and complete the economical credit evaluation system from the aspects of environment, industry and cooperation.
