In the drastic environment of competition globalisation,new product development increasingly becoming the focus of competition.Enterprise which can respond faster to market needs will prevail,while those unresponsive will loose market share,resulting in loss.Hence,enterprise faces increasingly serious market competition in the process of new product development.As the speed of product development increases,the life cycles of product shortens.There are more product varieties due to competition that pushes the society progress in an incredible pace.How does one adapt to market need that changes so fast,how to survive and grow with the help of new product development and other means in this ever critical market environment,how to maintain the lifeliness of an enterprise so that it can be a forerunner or closely following the trend,sensitive enough to detect market demands in order to develop product that market require is the main issue we are facing right now.The ability to develop new products has become an improtant measure of survivability,progress and responsiveness of an enterprise in this new century.And the application of project management technic is the key to increase product development capability.The thesis study the application of project management theories and method in new product development.The New Product Development Project of Saxan thorough and systematically explain process in Jackson Carpet,such as,long period,high expenses,unstable quality,low income after successfully developing. The application of project management will resolve these problems.Firstly,the thesis introduces a choosey of background,provide an overview of modern project management knowledge.Secondly,analise the economical and technological feasibility of the New Product Development Project of Saxan, ensure that project is feasible form economial and technological point of view. Thirdly,carry out a progress management WBS and schedule of various to ensure the project can be completed within anticipanted time according to planning.Then make sure the project adopts a matrix type project organization,from the project manager predominant project development,and be responsible to the Overseeing Committee.Related person of each dept.participates as member of the project,led by the project manager.Next,organize a cost management to the project in order to manage and control the whole process,discover and resolve various problems in the process in time.Finally,perform a quality management to the project,to ensure output will be able satisfy the objective of the project.This thesis study can be the reference and guidance to the other new product development of project.
